The new Falcon2 area scan cameras incorporate large resolutions and faster frame rates enabling high speed image capture with superb spatial resolution. Features such as global shutter and improved image quality make these Falcon2 cameras the camera of choice in applications where throughput, resolution and dynamic range matter. Global shuttering removes unwanted smear and time displacement artifacts related to rolling shutter CMOS devices. Inside these Falcon2 cameras is our latest CMOS sensor, which has reduced dark noise levels and improved dark offset, FPN (fixed pattern noise) and PRNU (Pixel Response Non-Uniformity) levels. In addition, region of interest features will offer opportunities for higher frame rates and new applications.
The Falcon2 cameras are compliant with GenICam™ and full Camera Link™ specifications—delivering 8 or 10 bits of data on 8 taps (frame rates are specified at 8 bits. Further, the M42x1 thread opening allows the use of your lens of choice.

12k resolution, 1.08 gigapixels per second throughput, and a fast 90 kHz line rate.
The Piranha ES 12k extended sensitivity camera heralds a breakthrough in TDI digital imaging technology. With a maximum line rate of 90 kHz, a throughput of 1.08 gigapixels per second, and 12,000 pixel resolution, the Piranha ES 12k camera provides optimal system performance in a compact form. Built applications which need extreme resolution and throughput but don't need the full 256 stages of sensitivity in our Piranha HS, the ES model delivers cost effective high performance.
Using Teledyne DALSA's new interface technology, this ES 12k camera joins our other maximum performance products capable of transmitting over 1 gigapixel throughput.
All models are capable of bidirectional operation with 64 TDI stages, while preventing overexposure with antiblooming features. Camera configuration is flexible and all software is controllable.
If you need maximum performance in low light, you need to look at a Piranha ES.
HSLink
The HSLink interface is a new machine vision connectivity interface pioneered by Teledyne DALSA. HSLink is designed specifically to meet the needs of all machine vision applications and therefore carries image data, configuration data and low jitter, real time triggering signals over a simple network topology supporting cameras, intermediate devices and frame grabbers. The interface has taken the key strengths of Camera Link, and added new features and functions. HSLink delivers scalable bandwidth of 300 to 6000 Mbytes/s, 1x to 20x configurations while using globally available, off-theshelf components
