Macro Lenses
Macro lenses are specifically designed for small fields of view (FOV), approximately equal to the size of the camera’s sensor. These lenses are defined by their magnification ratio relative to the sensor and are optimized for close focusing.
Excellent MTF performance and minimal distortion make them ideal for a wide range of machine vision applications.

Modular Lenses
Modular lenses are the most commonly used lenses in resolutions below one megapixel. Typically available in standard fixed focal lengths ranging from 4.5 to 100 mm, these lenses are optimized for focus to infinity, and usually rated with an MTF of 70–90 lp/mm and low distortion.
Lenses with shorter focal lengths often produce images with “fisheye” distortion.
Lenses for the NIR Spectrum
NIR (Near Infra-Red) lenses are infrared lenses tailored for the near-infrared spectrum, covering wavelengths from 900 nm to 1700 nm.

Zoom Lenses
A zoom lens is a system of camera lens elements that allows variation in focal length (and thus the field of view), unlike fixed focal length (FFL) or prime lenses.
The convenience of a variable focal length comes at a cost: complexity, size, weight, aperture performance, autofocus efficiency, and price.
All zoom lenses suffer from some level of image resolution loss, especially at their maximum aperture and particularly at the extremes of their focal range. This effect is most noticeable in the corners of the image, especially when viewed at high resolution or large format.
The greater the zoom range, the larger the compromises.
