Smart thermal monitoring to prevent production line failures using Teledyne’s GX2 compact camera

Continuous monitoring using thermal cameras allows you to identify problems before they become serious failures, thus preventing costly production downtime or damage to equipment. In recent years, the use of thermal technology has become a key tool in preventive maintenance in critical systems, especially in industries where any downtime can entail extremely high costs.

Thermal cameras can be used to detect abnormal heating of components, identify electrical loads, mechanical wear or phenomena hidden from the human eye. Typical equipment monitored includes high and low voltage installations, electrical panels, turbines, compressors, motors, control cabinets, heating elements, and other sensitive equipment.

In addition, many production lines have phenomena that are manifested in the thermal field – and not in the classical (visible) field of vision. For example, thermal sealing failures, spot temperature changes, heat leaks, loose connections, and more.

GX2 Compact Thermal Camera. High performance. Perfect integration
Continuous monitoring – The camera supports a rate of up to 60 frames per second, ideal for continuous monitoring of equipment in motion or under changing working conditions.
Early detection of faults – The high thermal sensitivity (≤ 50 mK) allows the detection of minute changes in temperature, so that premature heating of components such as turbines, compressors and electrical switches can be detected.
Thermal wavelength – The camera operates in the LWIR range (8–14 microns), which is precisely the thermal wave range in which phenomena that are not visible to normal cameras are revealed.
Tiny and lightweight design – The GX2 camera is very compact (only 29×36×53 mm) and is suitable for fixed installations, mobile systems, or integration into observation devices and airborne platforms.
Wide optical range – the datasheet lists lenses between 7.5 mm and 75 mm – a wide range that allows for perfect adjustment to different working distances and diverse fields of view.
ASIO Vision – precise adjustment of thermal imaging for industrial control
ASIO Vision specializes in integrating advanced cameras into industrial production and control processes. With rich experience in adjusting the right wavelength for each application, the company provides thermal imaging-based solutions when this is the right choice – with the understanding that there is no one solution that fits all.
